In the beginning, The Wolf was a man, an evil magician with grand idea of terror and subjugation. A powerful coven of witches was able to bind his powers by turning him into his bestial nature- a feral wolf. One of those young women was Red's grandmother, the coven's leader and a very powerful witch.
